Cravings...

Have you ever had one of those weird experiences. Well, in my little world it was weird. I was watching a movie and it was beginning to cloud up just as an outdoor wedding was about to happen. When it started pouring in the movie, at the EXACT time it started pouring here. I know you are all really interested in stuff like that, yeah right.

Went about 90 calories over my scheduled plan yesterday. I get a craving for peanut butter on graham crackers at night and some nights if I don't have the calories left I can talk myself out of it but the craving was just too strong last night and my tummy was grumbling so I gave in. Oh well, it still keeps my average well below what I had planned. Sure hope Wednesdays a good WI.

And speaking of cravings. I have a horrible craving for potato chips and french onion dip. I can't get it off my mind, like for going on a month now. So I decided I'd get some this week and try to make myself sick on them and then I wouldn't want them any more. Or, I might figure the calories and ration them to last me all week. Haven't decided yet, but I gotta have 'em. One of my favorite rationales when I was fat was that life is too short not to enjoy it. Now I'm thinking that life is too short not to feel good. And that's what has happened since I lost weight. I feel good most of the time. But I still have to have some little indulgences once in a while, right?

Hope your week isn't filled with too much work and you have some fun.

I totally agree about indulging. Give in or it will drive you crazy until you just can't take it any more and go hog wild crazy and devour them. Whether you eat them all at once or ration them out, they'll still have the same effect, as far as I know. For me, I'd have more fun going to town on them all at once. Chew slow and savor every last bite.

If you go to Walmart to get the dip, you gotta try "Heluva Good" dip. I saw it in the store yesterday. Here's the link so you can see what the container looks like: http://www.heluvagood.com/products/prodlistcoll.aspx?id=386

Seriously the best sour cream and onion dip you'll ever taste (although they call it french onion dip).

They even have a fat free version but I haven't been able to find it in the stores yet.

I've been craving home made chocolate chip cookies lately. But that's only because Nicole and I used to eat them when we would sit down to play video games and she's been playing video games all weekend. Funny how that pavlovian response will get me every time.

For sure you have to indulge every once in a while. The trick is to limit it to one day only.

I LOVE your thought on Life is to short to not feel good!

And Cara is right..the Hellava Good dip is DIVINE! Didn't know they made a fat free version...i'll have to start looking for it. Well, on second thought, maybe I'll just keep my head in the sand about that one!

Spooky coincidence about the rain!

I have to be honest with you, I'm not loving the 'splurge until you're sick of them idea.; I'm all for the splurge itself, mind you, but it would be so great if you could figure out a way to moderate it somehow. Buy a small bag of chips or make a small amt of dip with sour cream and that powdered dip mix (Hidden Valley?)

I'll butt back out of your business now (*g*), but I worry that you'll feel badly about yourself with a full-blown splurge-o-rama.

mmm, potato chips sound really good right now. Indulging every once in a while helps keep me sane.
