Disappointment...

I really didn't enjoy the roast. And I'm sure it is because I didn't throw any potatoes on it. And since I didn't have potatoes on it, I didn't have a half a stick of real butter on them. That must be what makes the pot roast so good to me. So I guess it's not the roast I missed but the potatoes and butter (and I miss noodles and butter) but I'm surely not going to go down that road. I know for sure that that would be a terrible mistake on my part. But I did have enough left over roast, onions and carrots to freeze a couple of meals. My next feat (next week) will be to try to make healthy fried chicken (breasts). I used to make Bisquick oven fried chicken once in a while and it was almost as tasty as the chicken I fried in a lot of grease. I will give that a try next.

Nothing else going on in my world. I've been setting here with my fingers poised over the keyboard for the past 5 minutes racking my brain and can't think of a thing to write about, so I guess this will be a short one.

Check out your stores (ok ok ok....I know your store is lame) but they do have fat free butters. I have used the spray butter, I have used the smart beat squeeze butter and most recently a tub of light whipped butter (I think it is promise?). It is zero points for a normal size serving. Yeah, it's not as yummy as straight up fatty butter...but it does the job!

Ok....just got my arse up out of the chair....it IS PRomise, Fat Free! (I get it in the two small tubs in a pack)

For me this journey is about A. Finding substitutes that I can deal with and if no substitutes can be found then B. working it into my diet. There is NOTHING that I will not eat if I really want it.

Well now you know what your real craving is so you will have to figure out a way to have it or leave it alone. Good luck with the the chicken recipe. I need to figure out how to turn my oven on. Would you believe the word verification is foodiste. Just thought you would find that interesting since we are talking food. HA!

Oh, I'm sorry your roast wasn't up to expectations. I hate when that happens.

Maybe it's time to shake up your recipe? Or maybe on roast days you could go low fat the rest of the day to offset the buttery potatoes?

You'll figure out something, I'm sure. :)

Interesting that it was the potatoes that you were after. Could you make some but just a few?
