The Weekend's Getting Closer...ARGH...

Yesterday was a great day! Eating wise that is. And that's the only way it was great. I don't want to become one of those old ladies that tells everyone about their ails so we'll just leave it at that.

Anyway back to the eating part. I had a ham sammie (210 calories) for breakfast then talked my self into heading to town to grocery shop. (And believe me that was a long and hard talk I had there.) I had intended to eat out while there even though it wouldn't have been healthy eating. I just thought it would perk me up a bit. I was on my way home when I realized I hadn't stopped to eat. Well, I wasn't going to turn around and go back so I just came on home and fixed myself a frozen french bread pizza (432 calories) as a treat for lunch. Then the ails came and I took a short nap. I had a large salad for supper with creamy Parmesan dressing and an ounce of whole cheddar cheese (169 calories). My snacks included a serving of rice pudding (60 calories) and a banana (106 calories) with peanut butter (190 calories) on it. Bringing my total to 1167 calories. And I wasn't hungry when I went to bed! Got a good nights sleep last night so maybe things will be better today.

It's so funny about me and grocery shopping. I hate it like the plague and put it off until I just can't wait any longer. Then when I get home and get everything unloaded it feels like Christmas. I'm so happy that it's done and the cupboards and fridge are full. I've been that way all my life.

I was a little disappointed with myself last night. While talking to a friend that is having trouble with his cholesterol and weight. I was sharing a couple of recipes with him and realized that I'd forgotten to get any turkey smoked sausage. Bummer! But there's no way I'll go back into town today and pick it up. It will just have to wait until next week. I'll get it when I head to Lewisburg for my bone density test and mammogram on Wednesday.

Anyone ever had a bone density test? Wonder what they do to you? I really don't think that I need one since I'm prone to calcium type kidney stones but the doctor suggested it and one of my daughters talked me into keeping the appointment to use it as a baseline. And I guess at my age I should have stuff like that checked out.

Hope everything's rosy out there your way.

I feel the same way as you do about grocery shopping - I will try and talk my husband into going, but eventually I have to actually get there to pick up the things that are too hard to describe for him to find.

I love the feeling of a fully-stocked fridge and pantry, though!

Good luck on the bone density test - never had one. My mammo is scheduled for the end of April, so I will be with you on the boob squish!

Everything is rosy! Except i skipped out on a workout yesterday and am feeling guilty about it. Gotta let it go though. It was a weightlifting workout. As i was watching TV i kept looking at the weights there by the TV and every commercial i would tell myself that i really needed to go pick those up but i just couldn't get my butt off the couch. Uuugh! Today is a three mile run day. I very rarely skip out on a run day cause i know it burns alot of calories. Yesterday i also had a carb attack!I wanted bread so badly so i gave in. Well today is a new day I WILL go run and i will stay with in my calorie limit! I'am having lunch with 'the girls' and i'll have the talapia santa fe fish with a baked sweet potato and brocolli. MMMMmm!
I know what you mean about shopping. I hate it too. Its one of those necessary evils though. Keep your chin up girl. You'll make it thru the weekend with flying colors! Jinx!

I'm not a fan of the grocery store, either. I have begun shopping just the outer perimeter of the store, so that cuts the time I have to spend there down considerable. It also means I'm buying healthier items and less processed foods. And I soooo agree with you that the feeling of satisfaction of having a well stocked fridge and freezer is almost, ALMOST, worth the trouble.

I don't know anything about bone density tests...I'd be interested to hear what they do to check that.

I hate putting the silly groceries away. If I just could arrange for someone to take them in and put them away, I would gladly shop. I have it easy though, I live real close to super Walmart. I live pretty close to Target and lots of grocery stores. I can browse around and do a little grocery stuff at each store (o: That test is probably a good idea. Let us know.

Just had a dexascan done which I think is what you might be talking about. You just lay on a table and this machine scans over your fully clothed body. Nothing to it. They do it to measure osteoporosis. This was my second one, as they did one 2 years ago as a base test. Took about 15 minutes

I'm with grammy--shopping isn't the problem, putting everything away is icky.

I feel 100% confident in your ability to be In Charge of your weekend.

There. I have said it, and it will be so. :)

Not fun while we do it but like Hanukkah (wink) when I finally get the haul up the stairs and into my kitchen.
