Love, Love, Love...

I had all these plans yesterday morning that got foiled or at least delayed a little. It was about 11:00 and I was just about to start making some chicken salad and rice pudding when all of a sudden the power goes off. WHAT?!?!? The sky was blue, no rain, no snow, no wind. I hooked up the trusty "old" phone (the cordless doesn't work without power) and called the power company to report it. They already knew but I did it just in case they didn't. I was told by a recording that it would be out for about 7 hours. So I got my Sudoku puzzle book out and settled in on the couch. The phone rang and it was my sister-in-law from Virginia.

I had a banana with peanut butter for breakfast and wasn't looking forward to a cold lunch and possibly a cold supper but there was nothing I could do about it. While talking to SIL the power came back on. It was only off for a little over 2 hours, YAY!! By then my tummy was growling a bit so I decided I'd hop up and start supper. I was so hungry and was going to try a new recipe and decided to have it for lunch instead. I made Grammy's Cabbage Burgers, YUMMMM. I made way too much filling for them so I ate a few of the burgers for lunch (they were real small) and had the left over filling for supper with a salad. Never did get the chicken salad made but did get the rice pudding done. Chicken salad is on the agenda for today for sure.

David tagged me with a love thingy.

The rules are that you list 7 things you love and tag 7 bloggers that you love.

1. I love my daughters (does that count as two?)
2. I love my dogs (there goes another two)
3. I love God.
4. I love my cabin.
5. I love my mountain.
6. I love reading.
7. I love ALL of my blog buds.

Sorry happy to say that there are way more than 7 bloggers that I love so I couldn't choose. I have tagged you ALL.

Have a great, great weekend out there.

Ohh I love those Tag thingies! I'm going to have chicken salad for lunch today. I spied the can of chicken hiding behind my coffee in the pantry this morning. Gonna go write my tag now! :)

Chicken salad must be the lunch of the day!! I just finished thinking about making that, too. Now I will, I want to be like the "cool girls". Thanks for the great idea. I love the Suduku puzzles, but I'd only need one for the entire 7 hrs.!! I have the attention span of a gnat.

O.K. I'm playing catch up. Oh for the day when I'm not working!! I want to come eat at your house. My goodness. I've got to try those cabbage burgers. Sorry about the ails hope your all better now. I'm just like you when it come to grocery shopping. I hate it!!! But, when my cupboards and freezer are full, I'm so happy. Aren't we funny!! Bone density test, I've had a couple but yours may be different. They do a health screening where I work every fall. For the bone density test I take my right shoe and sock off. The girl rubs my ankle with alchol and put my foot in a machine. This machine tightens round my ankle and after a little while it gives her a reading. I've had one the last two years and all is well. I hope the machine can tell the difference between bone and fat. HA!

As for the prayer request on Prayfully Yours, the link takes you to the mother's blog. Apparently little Stellan wasn't suppose to make it when he was born but has defied the odds but now he is very sick. As for the video, it is a video of the Lord's Prayer. My niece and I have had problems with my posting on the PY site the last couple of weeks.

Have a great weekend yourself.

Now look. I thought we had a deal on this cabbage thing. Or was that the brussel sprouts? :) :)

Glad your power wasn't out all day. Also glad you had some pb&b on hand. That's comfort food to me!

Hope you're having a great weekend!

Thanks for the encouragement! I have been eating peanut butter apples (and sometimes bananas), and find that the combination of fruit with a bit of fat and salt is perfect!
